About Living Waters Care
Small, licensed adult foster homes in Salem, Oregon, where every resident is known by name.
WHO WE ARE
Real care in a real home
Living Waters Care runs three licensed adult foster homes in Salem, Oregon: Misty House in West Salem, and Waldo House and Alana House in Southeast Salem. Each home is an ordinary house on an ordinary street, where a small number of residents are cared for by caregivers who know every one of them by name.
We care for adults who need daily help but do not want to live in a large facility. Residents receive personal care, medication support and help with daily routines, along with the privacy, family visits and small comforts that make a place feel like home.
We welcome Medicaid (Oregon APD) and private pay residents.
What is an adult foster home?
If the name is new to you, you are not alone. An adult foster home has nothing to do with foster care for children. It is a regular home in a regular neighborhood, licensed and inspected by the State of Oregon, that provides room, board and personal care for a small number of older adults and adults with disabilities.
It can be a good fit for people who need daily help and want a smaller, calmer setting than a large facility. We are always glad to answer questions about how it works.
Why small homes
Our homes are small on purpose.
Familiar faces
We staff each home with a consistent team, not a rotating roster, so residents and families always know who is caring for them.
Changes noticed early
With only a handful of residents, caregivers notice small changes early and can respond right away.
Time for people
Caregivers keep to each person's routine and have time to talk with families. A resident here is a neighbor, not a room number.
Care and daily support
Care plans are tailored to the person and to what each home is licensed to provide, and they can change as needs change.
Before anyone moves in, we review individual care needs to determine whether we can safely meet them. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you honestly.
